Dr. Matt Barnes Joins King Animal Hospital

BVMS, Emergency Veterinarian

Dr. Barnes was born and raised in Toronto and completed his BScH in Life Sciences at Queen's University before obtaining his veterinary degree at the University of Glasgow in Scotland.

He then pursued additional training in abdominal surgery, abdominal ultrasound, and flexible gastrointestinal endoscopy and has a broad range of interests, all relating to emergency medicine. Dr. Barnes has treated a range of conditions: from traumas and toxicities, to infectious disease, difficult to manage diabetics, heart disease, seizure disorders, and much more.

Most recently, Dr. Barnes has been working as an emergency veterinarian in Ottawa for the past few years and is happy to be returning to his home town.
