Dr. Stephen Waisglass, BSc, DVM, CertSAD, DACVD, joins the team at King Animal Hospital

Board-Certified Veterinary Dermatologist

Dr. Stephen Waisglass is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (DACVD). He is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) and obtained a Certificate in Small Animal Dermatology from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the UK. He subsequently did his ACVD dermatology residency at the OVC.  Before becoming a board-certified veterinary dermatologist, Dr. Waisglass practiced small animal medicine and surgery. During that period, he owned three small animal clinics in York Region and is keenly aware of the challenges veterinarians face “in the trenches”.

Dr. Waisglass is Adjunct Professor at the OVC and teaches the dermatology course to the vet students there. He lectures internationally in the field, with live speaking engagements in Europe, Africa and from coast to coast in North America. He has published numerous journal and textbook articles on various topics in his field.

When not working, he enjoys tennis, travelling, and spending time with his wife, children and their Golden Retriever, "Penny", who is a certified St John’s ambulance courtroom therapy dog.
