Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) – Anesthesia

Pay: $28.00–$42.00 per hour

King Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Anesthesia team. This is an ideal opportunity for an RVT who is passionate about anesthesia, enjoys working on complex cases, and is looking to further develop their technical skills in a specialty referral setting.

About Us

King Animal Hospital is a privately owned, state-of-the-art referral and emergency hospital serving both equine and small animal patients. Our 60,000 sq. ft. facility on 50 acres in King City, Ontario is equipped with advanced diagnostics and supported by a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

You’ll work closely with board-certified specialists in surgery, critical care, neurology, internal medicine, anesthesia, cardiology, oncology, and more—gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of complex and rewarding cases.

What You’ll Do

As an Anesthesia RVT, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, effective anesthetic care across a variety of procedures:

• Assist with anesthetic planning and patient preparation
• Induce, monitor, and support recovery for anesthesia in surgical and diagnostic procedures
• Monitor patients using advanced equipment (multiparameter monitoring, capnography, ECG, blood pressure, temperature)
• Perform patient assessments, catheter placement, and medication administration
• Support anesthesiologists and surgical teams during procedures
• Provide attentive post-operative monitoring and patient care
• Maintain accurate anesthesia records and medical documentation (EzyVet, VetRadar)
• Ensure anesthesia equipment is properly maintained and protocols are followed
• Collaborate with RVTs, DVMs, and specialists to support optimal patient outcomes

What We’re Looking For

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in good standing with the OAVT
• Strong interest or experience in anesthesia
• Minimum 3 years in referral or emergency practice preferred
• Excellent patient monitoring and technical skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
