Small Animal Ophthalmologist – Board-Certified or Residency-Trained

King Animal Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified or Residency Trained Small Animal Ophthalmologist to join our multi-specialty referral and emergency hospital.

You will join our Small Animal Ophthalmology team including one other Ophthalmologist, managing a varied caseload of medical and surgical ophthalmic cases. Most cases are small animal but there is opportunity for equine cases as well. You’ll work closely with our multi-specialty team to support excellent visual outcomes and quality of life for our patients.

King Animal Hospital is a privately owned, 60,000 sq ft Equine and Small Animal Multi-Specialty Referral & Emergency Services Hospital located on 50 acres in King City, Ontario, approximately 40 minutes north of downtown Toronto.

Advanced Diagnostics & Equipment

You will have access to a comprehensive suite of advanced diagnostics and treatment tools, including:

  • 3T MRI (GE) for small animals
  • 1.5T MRI (Siemens) for equine
  • GE 128-slice CT for small animals
  • CT with robotic arm for equine (Universal Medical System)
  • Scintigraphy, C-arm, and fluoroscopy
  • Ultrasound and digital radiography
  • Video endoscopes, rigid scopes, and laparoscopy/arthroscopy towers
  • High-flow oxygen and mechanical ventilation, ECG

About You

  • Board-Certified Small Animal Ophthalmologist (Diplomate ACVO or ECVO) or Residency-Trained and board-eligible.
  • Eligible for licensure with the CVO.
  • Proficient in a range of ophthalmic diagnostics and procedures; we are happy to discuss specific equipment and case mix to align with your interests.
  • Collaborative, approachable and comfortable communicating complex information to clients.
  • Enthusiastic about teaching interns, RVTs and colleagues about ophthalmic best practices.
